Six walks around Wädenswil, and none of them needs high mountains

Inspired by the long out-of-print walking booklet «Wädenswil von Kopf bis Fuss» from 1981, I re-explored six routes for the Wädenswiler Anzeiger: from the lakeshore to the highest point of the municipality, on foot and on snowshoes. I was amazed myself how much Wädenswil has to offer.

Undisturbed nature in the Häxetäli

2¼ hrs walking · 3½–4 hrs with breaks

Early in the morning, while Wädenswil is still asleep, the Häxetäli shows its most mysterious side. You walk through the reed meadows and into the woods, where the ground still smells of morning dew. With a little luck you meet animals that prefer to hide by day. The little valley lies right next to the town and yet feels like a world of its own. Whoever has breakfast in the rucksack finds a quiet spot along the way to begin the day outdoors, before heading straight back into town.
