Terms and conditions
What applies when you book a hike: registration, cancellation, weather, equipment, insurance.
- Version date October 2026
Scope
Wander-Erlebnis.ch, Sebastian Epp, organises and leads hikes and snowshoe tours, referred to below as “tours”.
Registration and contract
You can register by email or through the enquiry form on the website. An email registration must contain all the details the enquiry form asks for.
After registering, the participant receives written confirmation by email from Wander-Erlebnis.ch, Sebastian Epp (referred to below as “the organiser”). From that point the registration is binding, and these terms and conditions form part of the contract between participant and organiser.
Requirements for taking part
All tours require good health and suitable equipment, at least as specified in the tour description. By registering, participants confirm that they meet the fitness and technical requirements set out there. The organiser may exclude participants who do not meet them, before or during the tour; in that case no refund is given.
Groups
Group tours call for tolerance, adaptability and understanding from every participant, since fitness varies within the requirements of any tour. The organiser reserves the right to exclude participants who cannot fit into the group, without refund.
What is included
What the price includes varies by tour and is set out in each tour description.
Changes to the programme
Tours generally go ahead in all weather. The weather, or the condition of participants or the guide, may lead to short-notice changes of programme, area or route, or to the cancellation of a tour. Participants accept such changes. Any additional travel or accommodation costs are borne by the participant.
Payment
Payment is due once the booking confirmation has been received, as stated on the invoice. If payment does not arrive on time, the organiser may terminate the contract and charge cancellation fees as set out under “Cancellation by the participant”.
Cancellation by the participant
If a participant cancels before the tour begins, an administration fee of CHF 80 is charged, plus:
- 30 to 21 days before the start: 30% of the invoice amount
- 20 to 11 days before the start: 50% of the invoice amount
- 10 to 0 days before the start: 100% of the invoice amount
Participants who leave a tour early or do not turn up are not entitled to a refund.
Cancellation by the organiser
In exceptional circumstances, such as high avalanche danger, severe weather or illness, the organiser may cancel tours at short notice. Any amounts already paid are refunded in full; further claims are excluded. If a tour has to be cut short because of force majeure, such as exceptional avalanche conditions or severe weather, there is no entitlement to a refund.
Insurance
Accident, health, liability and theft insurance are the participant’s own responsibility. Becoming a Rega patron (Swiss air rescue) and taking out cancellation insurance are recommended.
Liability
A qualified guide gives participants the greatest possible safety. The particular hazards of the outdoors and the mountains nevertheless leave a residual risk, which participants expressly acknowledge by registering. The organiser accepts no liability for slight negligence, for fault on the part of participants or third parties, or for force majeure.
The organiser is not liable for theft, loss of or damage to participants’ own or hired equipment.
Data protection
The organiser uses participants’ data to process registrations. Details are set out in the privacy policy.
Governing law and jurisdiction
The contractual relationship between participant and organiser is governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Horgen, unless the law mandatorily provides otherwise.
