Six walks around Wädenswil, and none of them needs high mountains

Inspired by the long out-of-print walking booklet «Wädenswil von Kopf bis Fuss» from 1981, I re-explored six routes for the Wädenswiler Anzeiger: from the lakeshore to the highest point of the municipality, on foot and on snowshoes. I was amazed myself how much Wädenswil has to offer.

Walk 1 of 6 · Summer

The Wädenswiler Berg from north-west to south-east

This walk takes its time. It crosses Wädenswil at half height, from north-west to south-east, and hardly ever loses sight of the lake. You walk on meadow tracks and through short stretches of woodland, past a farm here, a patch of vineyard there. There is plenty of distance and little climbing — good for a conversation, good for a day when you have nothing to prove to anyone. At the end a hidden gem is waiting, the kind most people miss because it lies off the road.
