A wonderfully unhurried chairlift carries us from Feldis to Mutta, straight onto the lower part of the Dreibündenstein plateau. A very gentle climb leads beneath the Tgom’Aulta to the Term Bel ski hut (Term Bel being the locals’ name for the Dreibündenstein). Will it be open? We would happily stop for a coffee, even this early in the day.

From here we climb at an easy pace towards the Term Bel itself, where there is time for the view and a bite to eat. Then we head south across the plateau towards the Fulhorn – a summit for a more energetic tour, another time. Our destination instead is Pradaschier, the top station of the Churwalden ski area. After a stop for refreshments, we ride the gondola down and take the train home.
